Establishment
The Child Care and Youth Services Department consists of two programs: Child Development and Child Development Evening Education. The Child Development Program was established and began education in the 2007-2008 academic year. Following a decision made at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting held on March 28, 2013, the "Child Development Program (Evening Education)" program was established for the 2013-2014 academic year in accordance with Articles 7/d-2 and 7/h of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880, and Article 4 of Law No. 3843. Our Vocational School continues its education at the Develi Seyrani Campus, affiliated with the Kayseri University Rectorate. Established by Law No. 7141 on Amending the Higher Education Law and Certain Laws and Decree Laws, published in the Official Gazette No. 30425 dated May 18, 2018, the Develi Hüseyin Şahin Vocational School Child Development program was established within the Erciyes University Develi Hüseyin Şahin Vocational School in the 2007-2008 academic year and began teaching with its first students at the Seyrani Campus. In accordance with Law No. 7141 on Higher Education, published in the Official Gazette No. 30425 dated May 18, 2018, Kayseri University Develi Hüseyin Şahin Vocational School continues its education and training activities.
Degrees Earned
Students graduate with an Associate's Degree in Child Development upon successfully completing the 120 ECTS credits and graduation requirements.
Program Profile
The primary objective of the Child Development Program is to provide an educational service that fosters life skills through contemporary teaching methods, aligned with the principles of lifelong learning and the demands of the information age and the workforce. Our goal is to ensure that our students are individuals who utilize their resources, are research-oriented, and strive to contribute to the development of their country and profession. They constantly update themselves by staying abreast of developments in their field, possess original ideas, and are analytical.
Employment Profiles of Graduates
Preschools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education and Social Services, preschools affiliated with primary schools, nurseries, children's homes and children's clubs, and private education centers.
Transition to Further Education
Programs
Graduates who successfully complete their associate's degree can transfer to undergraduate programs in Preschool Education and Child Development and Education Teaching, provided they achieve a sufficient score on the Vertical Transfer Exam.
